This work present an investigation about electrical discharges occurring at electrode surface during the galvanostatic anodization of zirconium in phosphoric acid under conditions of electrolytic breakdown. In order to characterize the sparks, a high speed video camera was using to recorder the experiments. The results revealed important aspects of electrolytic breakdown, showing the discharges parameters during the process and the correlation with anodization curve.
